Two Individuals Accused with Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges following the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.

Watkins, 48, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after admitting a string of sex offences among them the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were taken as evidence.
